I am going to try some of the things here. I cant work on it today, but tomorrow after work I'llhave more time. Hiw difficult is to check the timing? How do I rake off the cat? I've never done done either before. I think autozone rents the vaacum, so I'll check that too.

Timing is pretty simple. Get a Haynes manual, or a FSM (ford service manual) That will help you with problems, trouble shooting, and learning about the car.

EFI requires jumping the STI connector with a piece of wire, like a paper clip or such. You will need a timing light, too.

Search "timing" here with the search function. Many threads about this in the forums section (top left of page) under repair help
