One other option to mount a pump near tank is on the drivers side, also back by the rear seat. There is another access panel for the fuel lines under a bigger cover on the drivers side rear area. It is mounted on the floor, and goes up the side wall of the drivers side, inside of car. Remove that panel and in there are all the fuel lines, plus a separator (plastic chamber thing)
Maybe you can get one it there. Buy the best pump you can buy, for an inline pump. Buy a filter for it, and put the filter before the pump.
Do you have a functioning return line? If not, you may want a pressure regulator that has a provision for a return. You can install the regulator in the engine bay and run the regulator return, to the stock return line.Dan
