Which alternator? *Urgent*

So my car needs an alternator. There's a 45 and 50 amp that I see available. Is the 50 for the automatic? Or does it matter? Also, since noone seems to have these in stock (and I need one asap), is there one listed for another car that will work? Any other Mazda or anything? I need to know soon! Thanks for your help!

I have a 89 mazda 323 alt on my car right now. Its 65 amps iirc.

Alternator for the 88-89 is different than the alternator for the 90-93.. Order by year and you will be all set...

Do you have an alternator/starter repair shop in your area? They should be able to repair your alternator. It's possible they might have one on the shelf.

Yea mine was plug and play. I have a 91 festiva.

I believe if you have 88-89 year Festy, you can switch the plugs on the harness to fit the newer style alt. Most Mazda alt from the 90's will fit then, and can get higher amp alt then. I read somewhere a member had a 90 amp alt. Don't remember what it was from, but it was a Mazda.

i got myself a B6 alt, output= 65amps and the car runs great!!! but you do have to cut the original plug and make some new connections on the blck/wht and blck/red wires. is a piece of cake!

Unless your running aftermarket high power stereo or lighting no need for a higher amp alternator.
I was surprised that even at rockauto.com a rebuilt alternator is $125+

Thanks everyone! I guess I'll just order one. I was trying to have one today or tomorrow, but it should be OK. I have an aftermarket stereo with a 12" sub and a 460 watt amp, but it's not played loud as much as it used to be, ha.

90 ford probe 2.2l 90 amp

Probe alt here, it's 7mm larger, so the top bracket must get adjusted, but 90 amp, doesn't work very hard to power everything
