    like where you live?

i have never seen brake line on a festy go bad around my neck of the woods!!!

ask pu241, who just bought the front brake lines off of my parts car.

if i go bone yard hunting, I'll keep an eye out for the front lines

ya this area of Ohio gets a lot of lake-effect snow (north of me is worse). They put so much salt down on the roads that it just eats cars up.

That's how it is here in WI every time there's a threat of any snow they send out the salt trucks. you can usually hear the salt hitting the bottom of your car all winter long

Check all the brake lines while you're at it. The Festiva has a safety feature which isolates the front and rear brake lines in case one end fails, you still have the brakes on the other end. When my brakes totally failed I found a leak in the front brake line but the rear line was leaking too. When the front went I lost all braking power since the rear had already gone.

I'm glad that Colorado Springs doesn't put salt down. They have TONS of snow plows but all the drop is sand and some other stuff. No salt. I'm glad.

Ohio Always seems to come up with ideas that will make your car run faster. The newest thing that they love to do to catalyze the rust reaction is to spread the brine solution down. Helps the roads somewhat but that stuff just eats your car up.

                      Canlboater,

Indiana, when I lived there, went one better!
They used a mixture of sand and salt!
This way the sand could erode through the paint and then the salt had free access to the raw metal. Worked great!
Cars had holes in them in only a few years!

I hear you. I have to follow like 20 semis on my way to work. Each of the semis is hauling gravel from a local quarry. Needless to say it looks like someone peppered my hood with a shotgun

Well got the passenger side done last night. Only took an hour to be the tube into position. Next is the nightmare side. I am not going to go through the bracket that runs behind the fuel filter. Has anyone else done this? I ended up having to cut the tub out of place the other night in order to get it out.

When I did the front left I ended up pulling the M/C and booster, it was easier to get at everything. I was tight for time during the Aspire swap and didn't run to the parts store for a new line. I looked over at the festy rear axle I had just pulled and noticed the hardlines. I was able to use one of them off the axle to make the front left hardline. I ended up cutting the corner a little behind the fuel filter, but its been on there for 5 months or so. Most of my parts stores have the brake lines in the back of the store and they don't really keep it stocked very well, so I just recycled.

                              canlboater,
I for one can not point fingers as to spelling and grammer, but could you please use the edit button from the message I quoted from!

                              It just doesn't sound right!

Can't help you with the brake line replacement, I went the chicken route and just replaced the lines with used ones!
And it was still a "unpleasent" job!
Did you replace the flex lines and caliper while you were at it?
