  • Need Help ASAP!!!

I have a 91 L model and the rod the lifters are on is bent, two questions. What is the rod called? And can i fix it?

Can you be a little more clearer? It's hard to figure out what you are asking? Are you talking about a connecting rod that the piston connects to? There are no pushrods(to the lifters) in these engines.

I think he means the rocker arm shaft.

defining ON to mean on top of or connected to / touching something would indicate the camshaft but that's improbable.

its the rocker arm shaft. make sure the bolts attaching it to the head are tightened, and if you take it off make sure they are installed in the same way they cam off, beacause they are hollow shafts they don't only hold the rocker arms in place but they also provde the lube oil to the lifters in the rocker arms. and yes you can fix them you just have to make sure they aren't cracked or it will probably starve the lifters of lube.

Also, make sure you don't pinch those black plastic spacers on the rocker arm! I have broken a couple this way, and had to find replacements in the JY. Check and double-check as you are tightening down the rocker arm bolts. The spacers will move around on you.

He actually has the springs he said he has a 91 festiva these are from a 97 aspire with. And yes its a little hard getting the springs to stay in place make sure you don't pinch the spring wire between the head and the shaft.

Squeeze the springs and then zip tie them. Bolt down the rocker shaft and then cut the zip ties.

That only works on blue cars
