It seems most all the Festivas I've owned have door seal problems. The top of the drivers door doesn't seat all the way shut properly and you can always hear loud wind through it and also see the top of it shaking. The rubber seals up there seem to be ok. It's as if the door just needs to be able to shut more...like adjusting the hinges or something. Does anyone know of a fix for this problem?

Roll the glass down and bend the door frame a little further in.
Shut the door on a piece of paper and pull it to check for resistance.
Continue to adjust until there is equal resistance at all points between the door and the body.Last edited by bravekozak; 01-10-2015, 08:18 AM.

It's not unusual for people to bring new cars in to the dealership, I'm told, with door noise complaints, and they are surprised to the see mechanic bend the door.Original owner of silver grey carburetted 1989 Festiva. 105k km as of June 2006. 140k km as of June 2021.

That video must be staged.
Then again, that's how we "rig" little airplanes that lack pilot-controllable "trim tabs" on the control surfaces to fly straight. We hand-bend the fixed trim tabs (which are nothing but a rectangular piece of 0.040" aluminum riveted onto the trailing edge of the control surface) by trial and error until the airplane flies straight and level with the pilot not touching the controls.88L black, dailydriver
