  • Starting issue

    First off, ignore the buzzing and knocking sounds. That would be my phone, not the car.



    The very labored cranking a few seconds in, it didn't do that before. Its been sitting in the garage without being started for at least a month and a half. If I give it just a little gas pedal it seems to start right up, as in the second time I crank it over.

    This is the BP auto car on the squirt by the way.

    Sounds like its tying to fire on compression stroke.

      bad battery or connection ? Looks like charging is working fine.

        I was thinking maybe the battery might have taken a partial-dump from sitting. Either that or maybe the ignition settings on the megasquirt are off. I got the tune from flyin4stroke though so I figure all that should be fine. Its from his turbo car.

              Starting issue

              What's the fuel requirment settings? I have to crack the throttle to start because I have no idle air. But it fires instantly once I touch the gas. If I just keep turning it over eventually it catches as air gets into the intake. If you have a iac you should be able to change the setting in ms. I never asked what was in your car I just sent you my tune for my car in fl. What's the temp there now? Gregs is the same for cold start. What's the timing at on the motor?

                Starting issue

                What injectors are you running? That tune is for 360cc at 9.3 required fuel

                  Stock BP. Either 230 or 265cc. Req fuel at around 13 I think. Gonna be throwing my GTR intake and 460s in soon.

                    I enabled IAC as well. Had no issues once it was running, just the cranking issue. Its like it would fire on the compression stroke or something, the starter would disengage but keep turning.

                        Stock location. Definitely not battery. Car starts fine on stock BP ecu.

                          Pulled some ground straps out of my old car, gonna put them in. Currently there's only one running from the battery to the frame rail.

                            Starting issue

                            There should be at least 2 ground straps. I prefer 3 engine to ground. Have you any pics of this swap? Where's the ground that goes to the dizzy harness?
                            All of my maps are based on the bp base code I'm using stock cranking settings. There's a few options you can change your starting dwell setting your idle air settings and cranking settings (cranking rpm and fuel clear).
