Glad you found you had a spare.
Note to those in the future: Use something to hold that thermostat in place (I used super glue - I'm a horrible person I know). If it slips (you likely won't be able to notice it slipped until it's too late) and you tighten those bolts, you'll hear a horrible *snap* sound.
That is the sound of needing a new thermostat housing.
