Heating and cooling things works great. The parts will expand/contract at different rates when heated/chilled and this causes seized parts to come free more easily. Once apart I tig weld a bead inside the outer race to remove them from the drum. When the weld cools the race falls right out of the drum, without any puller or hammering. Heating the drum and chilling the race in the freezer makes them go together without pounding on anything. I like doing things this way because there is less chance of damaging parts by impact.
Driving for me is neither a right nor a privilege. Driving is my passion, as it was for the people who invented the automobile, the people who paved the first roads and the people who continue to improve the automobile. Please respect this passion.

lol I wish. I was dirt poor back then, but managed to have 2 cars. The drum puller was a 98 Cavalier.
Any difference that makes no difference is no difference.

My big chevy, a chain and some bolts, a red festy on the hoist..that is how I ended up with my first festy!

I hung the chevy from the core support of the festy to pull the festy straight. It worked without having to borrow my buddies frame rack.

The only drum problems I have had is the beam bending a little and making the drum - spindle out of alignment. Even bent the drum still came off easy.
