  • Windshield washer lacks power

Well, I bought another Festiva and I've tried 2 washer tanks on it
so far and none of them will spray more than a small stream on the
windshield before giving up. Is it possible that both pumps are too
weak? I tried testing them outside of the car and they shoot a decent
stream of water, but once it's in the car it'll spray a bit and then quit.
The line will stay full as long as you're holding down the sprayer, but
when you let off the water drains back down. Is this a bad valve or
something? Should I just get a universal pump off of RockAuto?

I had trouble with a car I had. When I got it there was no lid on the washer tank. I removed it and cleaned it out. It needed it but it ended up needing the nozzle on the hood cleaned out as well.

I threw a lid on the washer tank and it's sealed well. The sprayer nozzle was from
      Fourgreen so it's brand new.

Have you checked the tube from pump to nozzle ?
You can get the replacement pumps at AutoZone cheap.
Take the old one in with you.

I also have the flat 3 noz Smart car sprayer.
Thanks to brave for that idea.
          I love it.

Yeah, the tube was broken at first so I replaced it with one from another Festiva an it'll spray a small amount on the windshield and then it quits. No leaks, just won't get through. And unless the new nozzle from Fourgreen is plugged up I don't think that's the issue. Maybe I'll run up to Autozone and grab a new pump here soon

Try a little puff of air pressure through from tube side and outside, high pressure will/might blow hose connections loose. I have had success with this before.

Try blowing into the tube. If you "give up" too it's probably the line.
