  • No heat to top vents? 1993 Festiva

I have a 1993 Festiva GL. I have just replaced the thermostat in it. With success of getting heat in the floor vents and my defroster now blows heat. My top vent will still blow out cold air please help. Thank you in advance.

That's just the way a Festiva is.

I hear you have to go to Arizona to get your heater to blow hot air through the top vents.

Festivas can sense differences in the earths gravitational pull and they give off more heat from those vents the closer you are to the equator. Also the vent is scared of the dark so it generally gives off more heat when the sun is up.

My dad rerouted some of the floor ducting to his. It worked OK.. I just keep mine on defrost/ floor lol.

On my drive home from work today i was thinking about that! Was it just as warm or did it mix with cold air too much to be worthwhile?

He had to put in a warmer thermostat.

I have just disconnected my heater core from the engine and given up.

You could try putting a heater core where the a/c condenser would be, butbthen you have heat all the time.

He could do that and put a manual valve on it.

On my car, even when heat is coming out of the top and bottom vents, cold air(on cold days) comes out of the center vents. Something probably isn't sealing right. I get air coming out of the vents when nothing is on while driving down the road.
