Hi, i registered to this forum simply because now i cannot find the thermoswitch that s supposed to switch on and off the cooling fan. the fan switches on, immediately switches of. or it spins for a few seconds/minutes and switches off. also does this when driving, and it s basically... a huge battery drain...
the problem is, my Kia Pride 1,3 L 64Hp Honeybee, has a thermostat housing that has no switch in it. so i checked the low radiatorhose, no switch. i checked the hose as far as i could follow it into the engine, no switch. thermostat housing, no switch.
things i checked:
-bubbles: well... i did some bleeding before replacing the sensor.
-this afternoon, i twisted the radiator cap and heard a huge *pssshh*... so... is the bubble gone now, meaning i did the bubbling wrong (cool engine) previously?
-coolant temp. sensor (replaced, didnt solve it)
-main relay (tested a new one at the parts shop, still clicked on/off)
-bought a new thermostat, but that s a mechanical part so i think i m going to send that back.
-cleaned and sprayed (wd40) the ground wire near the spark plugs.
since i just fixed 2 small thingies this afternoon, and i didnt take it to ANOTHER testdrive, i m not so sure whether or not i fixed it or didnt change anything. i thought "well, tonight we re going for a workout so that s a nice testdrive", i guess i ll post the results after this evening. meanwhile, could someone tell me WHERE S THAT THERMOSWITCH?! serious, i cant sleep at night... (is it... inside the engine? why would anyone do that?! just to bug me whenever the thing breaks? is Kia that evil???)
