I had the brake system open for quite a while working on the project car and most, if not all, the fluid drained out. Should I bench bleed the master before bleeding the rest of the system?

When I replaced all the metal brake lines from the combination valve to the wheels I didn't. If the top was not removed from the reservoir and the fluid level is still at the full mark I'd say no.Original owner of silver grey carburetted 1989 Festiva. 105k km as of June 2006. 140k km as of June 2021. -
If you are going to be bleeding the system by foot pumping, it might be worth bench bleeding the master. You could also try filling it up and letting it gravity bleed for a day or two.Comment
