    I removed the retaining screw how do I get the cable out of the transaxle

    You want just the cable off or the gear out?
    To remove the gear once you have the 10mm bolt out you just pull and twist and yank.
    To get just the cable off you unthread the top part from the speedo gear.

      What Screw? The 10mm bolt on the hold down tab? There is a Cable Retainer thing that has a 19mm Hex Head that you can unscrew and just pull the Speedo Cable out.

        And do not under any circumstances try to pry the gear up using a screwdriver. That tab breaks easily.
        Use a 19mm open end wrench to loosen the speedo cable.

        Looks like were posting at the same time firebush..

            Ok I'm trying to redo clutch I unscrewed the cable retainer and now there is the cable in the transaxle it's not moving do I need do more?

              Should come out with a good tug, it just sits in there.
              Trees aren't kind to me...
