Notchy shifting

I got a chance to look at mine, today and figured why mine felt "notchy". It was a loose bushing, it was a missing one!

I think that is just an anchor point but it does look like you are missing a large washer and a nut to hold it on. That or mine is missing some kind of bushing there as well....

This is where the bushing need to go.

There is also a large bushing that goes in the spot where mine is missing. I made a "temporary" bushing a couple years ago and made another one using some hoses. One hose inside of another hose. I've changed those other bushings a couple times in the past. My shifting is back to nice and solid.

Like i said in post #2, that one makes a big difference in how nicely the car shifts. At least yours is still on the stud! Must have been recent, mine fell down onto the exhaust.

I guess i need to look at this before i go pulling my rans out of the car. My bushing were kinda bad when i put the new linkage in but at the time i had no other options. I will look into this before i go pulling the trans out.

Mike I just ordered a Handful of these from the Website I linked. If they show up before Madness I will brig them with me to save you on Shipping cost. I was just going to buy a few for my cars but it was a minimum of $11.75 to ship it either way....
