I've had this knocking noise for a few months now. When I first heard it I thought it might be a rod knock. It only happens at low speeds while in a turn. I checked my Haynes Manual and came up with 3 possible reasons for this knock so, I sure its not a rod knock.
1. Worn CV joints. ( I thought CV joints made a clicking noise when they go bad. I don't have a clicking noise though.)
2. Worn side gear shaft counterbore in differential case.( What does this mean and, how do you fix this?)
3.Differential gear noise. (Do they mean transmission gear noise? Do I need to replace my tranny?)
It sounds like the knocking noise is coming from the right front of the car.
Thanking you in advance for your help, Rich
