  • Water Pump/Timebelt Question

I had to replace my water pump and everything went well.

But when I was removing the lower pulley the crank rotated a about 180 degrees

The belt was still attached to the valve train and tensioned so i don't think this will be a problem, however, my Hayes manual says to prevent the cam from rotating

Can anyone confirm is this is a problem and if so, how do I fix it?

If the belt never came off the sprockets and it always had the tension on it, you don't have any problem. You can verify if the valve timing is correct by looking in your Haynes Manual for the description of the timing marks and rotate your crankshaft to see if your marks line up as described.
