    Welcome Smokin Fastiva,

I wouldn't suspect the "steering knuckles" (aka tie rods) first!
More likely the CV joints or lower control arm ball joint!

Is it coming from a specific side or when you make a right or left turn?

How many miles on this one?

    PS
Can you edit your profile and add a location so we have some idea were you are?

        Thanks for your location!
There are a number of members from NC here!
Maybe someone close enough to lend a hand!

Because it makes the noise when you turn in either direction, I like the CV's for replacement!
Have you checked to see if the CV boots are intact?
Specifically, the outside CV's, nearest the wheels.
Also with 240K on it, I'd check the ball joints.
Do you know how to check the ball joints?
Don't ask how I know, but if the ball joint fails in a turn you have good chance of draining the transmission fluid without removing the transmission drain bolt!
Still possible could be tie rods, but I'd bet on one of the above!

I just had the same issue. The Left outer CV boot was torn and the problem went away when I replace the Half Shaft. The part was around $60. Took about half an hour with air tools.
