      Crank Bolt

      Some more amusing incidents:

So I'm using this IPA crankstopper that screws down the sparkplug bore and jams against the piston so's the crank won't turn while I'm removing the crank bolt. If anyone has seen them they are a 14mm threaded steel shaft with a hex end and a inset brass plug end that jamholds the piston.

So's anyway, I've gotten everything done and I'm setting the crank back to TDC to match the cam. I pull out the IPA crankstopper and the inset brass plug is MISSING! Popped out into the cylinder! Glad I noticed it. I imagine if I'd left it in there it would have made a bit of a racket in 'ol No.1. So now I get to pull the head. This would be a great deal more enjoyable if the weather here in Northern Virginia hadn't been between 0F and 29F for the last 2 weeks. (And me working outside on it)

And to think this job was originally just to replace a waterpump!
