  • about to buy another one!!

    im about to buy another festiva. its a 1993 5-speed with A/C and 170k miles. the only thing i see wrong is that the timing chain cover is away from the block. i can see the cam gear. should this cause a problem? im planning to replace the cover and gasket when i buy it.
    1993 5 speed FI. 2-5/8" tach, short throw, muffler delete. SOLD
    1993 5 speed FI. A/C! muffler delete, 2-5/8" tach, 5% tint, 14" alum. wheels, JVC head unit, 2 MTX 10" subwoofers. 195K
    2000 Trans Am 6 speed
    1997 HD 1200 sportster
    1986 Honda Rebel 250

    Shouldn't be a problem at all.

    I once had a Festiva that came without a timing belt cover, and it ran fine.

      I just replaced one not to long ago....it seems that they begine to warp or something....the car I took it off of was starting to rub too....but all good now

          Man, can't stand to see you suffer!
          That timing belt cover will cause you nothing but pain and agony!
          Better to tell me were this Festiva is so you wont be inconvenienced! :lol:

              replaced many on my two...bad valve cover gasket leak causes it most of the time. if i see one in the junkyard i always buy a spare.
              go to avance auto parts and ask for dust cover gaskets and it cost about $25.00

                oh okay! and i went and picked it up on saturday fellas and drove it home! not too often you buy a car for $250 from the original owner and drive it home!!
