A trucker on another site I frequent did a study on his route using three tanks with acetone and three tanks without acetone. No difference.

But if you inclined please give it a shot and report back to us, I'd love to be wrong on this!

There is no way this could work. Not more than just a tiny bit. There is simply no sound chemistry behind it. If there were, it would be been LONG know about and used through history. You can change octane ratings quite easily with additives, but doubling the mileage? no way. I would bet big money on it.

There are a bunch around here that did a study on it , just like that trucker .

They did a 8 week test , there was no difference in mileage .

I know it sounds good , and I would love to see others outcomes, but I have not seen any actual positive results yet .

That's a resounding no from the room. I knew there was a reason I came here first with this info.

HOWEVER: SeaFoam, which I have heard is MOSTLY just acetone, I can say from personal, and multiple experiences, can produce MORE POWER, and better MPG......

I get about 42 - 46 MPG without Acetone and if with Acetone about 48 - 55 MPG if IIRC with math. Also don't forget I have a mod preheat fuel line before the fuel injectors that help a lot in cold weather!

                  EDIT:

I will show you pictures and results the before and after. (pretty interesting.)

If your check the Seafoam label and cross reference the CAS numbers you'll see that one of the major components is Isopropanol(IPA).
There is no acetone in it!
Never relie on what you "have heard"!

You need to get the MSDS to determine whats in it!

Thanks! You saved me the trouble of pointing that out. Something this guy doesn't mention is what acetone will do to your fuel system. It's a solvent, just like gas, but has different properties and will dissolve different things...like seals, some plastics, it will harden rubber lines....it goes on.

                          Isopropanol is good stuff!
Not aggressive like methanol, and even more miscible with gasoline than ethanol. Absorbs water and has higher boiling point than methanol or ethanol. Also good for diesels!
