wth? if you are in the dessert- why put curves in roads? living in the foothills of appalachia I just wish the roads were a LESS curvy - guess I'm gettin old.

two word for you southeastern festiboyz

ROAD ATLANTA - have a meet there and run on times to see who is king.

I don't have one but I'd come watch, lol - that is if you guys aren't prejudice of us aspire owners. (we'll park in the back of the bus)

    nice vid btw

If you think the Senoran desert is flat, you should come see it for yourself. This mountainous dryland is so full of old mining roads and canyon passes, most of which unpatrolled by law enforcement, that it's a sportscar paradise. I've crossed this continent several dozen times with professional roadracing teams and driven on most of the countries most well known tracks (including Road Atlanta). I stick to my comment about AZ. There are twisties all over the country, but the conditions are ideal in this desert wasteland.

Side note: I was raised and learned how to drive at the opposite end of the Appalachian Mts, the end seldom seen, and riddled with gnarly tarmac and dirt roads.

Tweak will be there too! Love that track. I don't see any problems with Aspires joining in the fun.

What about Laguna Seca? We can probably get in on an existing Mazda event there pretty easy and its much closer to you.

the only track that i want to try more than Laguna Seca or road atlanta, is the nurburgring ring drool but i think shipping my car over there and back would be a bit to much money lol... ill start with the "local" tracks first lol...

lets try and get in to a mazda meet at Laguna Seca, i wanna pound on some miata's

Have you ever been to tortilla flats? That place has insane roads! I used to live in Arizona and there really are some crazy awesome roads. Anything from deserts, fast paced mountain twisty roads, Single lane with two way traffic mountain roads, it's got everything!

Nice! Yeah, the corkscrew is pretty tricky, but it probably wont be too bad in a Festiva (light weight, short wheelbase helps in that curve). The track has a lot of great corners, but the corkscrew is the best place to spectate. Here's a pic I took from pit lane in 2008.

Yeah, Tortilla flat is a classic loop. Haven't been in a long time though. I'll have to make the trip and take some video. Tweak is a lot of fun in the twisties, I'm addicted!

If we get enough interest in a track meet here in Arizona I can make that happen easily, I'll work on setting something up at Laguna Seca.

It could be done pretty easily as Laguna Seca is a state park and has free general admission to the park. It is very spacious and has great facilities. If timed right, there are plenty of weekends where clubs rent the track and usually allow outsiders to participate for a little extra $$. I may be able to work something out to get a reduced entry fee on a track day. It's a long haul for the east coasters, heck it's even a 12-15 hour drive for me, but well worth it.

dang, i need to stock up on tires, transmissions, and money to get all this stuff down there lol....

but first i need to do a bunch of work to the festiva....

maybe we need to pool some money and get groups of people to rent some of these...

11 or 12 festivas on on trailer.... my dad hauls cars for a living... but im not to sure that he can take his truck down to the states... but im sure we can get other people to truck all of them down there... i see a big meet in the making...

If this plan solidifies, I would quite honestly consider flying home from Japan to attend.
