if i did the necessary metal (and wiring) work would this be cool? would any body else want this on their car? it was just a thought i had at work today. threw this pic together in 'paint', so its not the best.
What's with the wing? Im sorry, but, WHY would you do that to a festiva, or any car for that matter? and even if you could get up the speed for some downforce (150mph or so) the 1/4" sheetmetal screws that hold it on the roof would let loose. also , rear downforce --- FWD whats the point.

even on FWD cars, you need rear downforce in some situation to add traction. But I agree, I just don't care for those wings. And you're correct about mounting them with #10 screws into sheetmetal!

I agree with you about the rear downforce thing, but in this instance, be it far-fetched, you would only need it for turning, and I dare say, you wont be turning a Festiva at 150mph..
I still wanna put a sharkfin on my roof. Increased lateral stability and a higher spot to mount my aerial communications array.
Did I mention my "barrage balloon" project? Now I need to source some hydrogen to fill that up, along with my tires and few other empty spaces in the car. I figure I can get about a 200 to 400 pound weight savings by going "lighter than air."
Stay tuned for "Hindenburgstiva."
