I can't really tell but did you drill out or cut out the brackets for the rear seat upright on either side in the rear? I drilled the spot welds on mine and pulled them out on each side and they were a nice amount of uneeded weight.

hey, nice to see you and your car here, I was looking at it on another forum either 780tuners or beyond.ca, I was pretty impressed with how it was running in the autocross. What model vw are your rear shocks from and the coil overs... I need to stiffen up my beast for next year.

I am going to try auto x in saskatoon this year I hope, its still about an hour and half from here but it is the closest place with auto x...

Anyone know how hard it would be to get an auto x set up in a different city? who would I need to talk to?

I do the AutoX thing... love it. Won D mod (with a little competition, not much...) this year, in three regions... my rookie year.

What exact coilover are you using? What was it made to fit?

Rabbit shocks in back, and 323 struts in front, right?

Let me know on the coilovers, I know others that use Honda coilvers, but once again, I need to know exactly what you are using, I am getting ready to put a set together.

I too and thinking about hacking the top off and caging it.

I plan on a fiberglass hood, and a cut down, or fabricated partial hatch too.

I also might remove all the rest of the glass too... I plan to trailer it this year, and don't need it to be street legal.

I guess I will do the bumpers too, every little bit helps.

quaddawg, once you take the bumpers off its a whole different car,

and when imean whole different car i mean like drastically faster,

and im using dropzone ones, i bought them a rice rocket shop here in edmonton, they are for a volkswagen golf, and the rates i got were 450 front and 350 rear... thats all ir eally knwo abou tthem, they are just the sleeves that go over the stock shock, and i cut off the perches... thats all really,

They are Diamond racing wheels, 13", custom ordered. 6" wide, as that is what the Hoosiers I am running need. I am using Hoosier 8" Road Racing slicks, 20x8x13, cantelevered style with super stiff sidewalls..

I love them, but I am running R45 compound, and really need something softer, like R35 or even R25, as I don't have enough time to build heat in the R45 at Autocross... maybe next year.

Suspension this winter, and maybe a cam and some head work. Also, I plan to gut it some more... bumpers, Dash, glass, etc....

your remains one of my favorite festivas quaddawg, its very simple as far as cosmetics is concerned and very effective as far as performance is concerned.

paint on the side wall, in two spots, halfway between the two 'Hoosier' names.... "Daddy"

                          c'mon, you know it's funny.....
