Ugh... This just reminds me that it's time to swap on the hardtop and get Casper put away for the winter.

We had snow on Christmas a few years ago. First time that ever happened. Last time it snowed here was like 1972 or so before that.

Oh, trust me, I know the power of the Mighty Festiva! Uncle Fester has embarrased more than one SUV! And, I ride my motorcycle year-round, rain-sleet-snow, as long as the streets aren't icy. I don't mind shoveling anything, or any physical labor for that matter. I would just prefer to be hot rather than cold! 105 in the shade is nice! I'd rather be hot and sandy than cold and wet.

Im not a fan of snow. But I will take cold over hot any day of the year. I always say you can always put more clothes on if youre too cold. But you can only take so much off and not be arrested.

Ok...I totally hate winter (I know, I live on the wrong side of the country for that) but you can't fully appreciate the Festiva until you've gone through a REAL winter...I am just back online as of 4:00 AM this morning, after 26 hours without electricity due to a 11" snowstorm (which was our first snow of the winter) of thick sticky stuff. Four trees snapped in my yard alone. The roads were covered with almost a foot of snow, as the city could not plow it because in part of the trees lying on the road or bent over it like a tunnel, also because the city's snow plowing contract was not active yet. Also, most people, stupid as they are, were still on their summer tires, still waiting for the first snow to create chaos at the local shops and garages...Well, with such a rainy summer, I suspected that we'd have a lot of snow, and early, so I had my new winter tires mounted 3 weeks ago. Needless to say the Festy behaved like a tank, even through a foot of heavy snow. Nothing could slow it down. The new BP pushing out more heat through the vents that the B3 ever could, those 155/80-13 wheels giving it almost SUV-like clearance, and good brand new snow tires clawing for traction, those fools could not beleive it. People looked at my car drive by like no one told her it was in a snowstorm and was supposed to struggle. Most people got stuck in the hills, trying to avoid the trees and losing momentum, while I got past them. My room mate thought I was crazy to venture out in such weather, but his disbelief was not as intense as when he saw me come back without a itch!!! I wanted to film this ride, but my camera was out of battery, and the whole city was without power. But the deliciously thick icing on the cake was when a bulky eight foot branch fell on my room mate's '06 Civic (which was unscathed thanks to the thick snow) while many trees fell around my Festy, but not even one ever touched it!!! Festivas FTW!!! Even Mother Nature loves 'em!!!

You guys just don't live far enough north obviously. Here on the 54th-ish parallel (Edmonton) it was a balmy 60 fahrenheit yesterday, though only 45 or 50 predicted today, and no sight of snow on the ground this season. Ya'll come on up and warm up, eh! (Just ignore those ice race stories I was just telling on a different thread.)

I know all about shoveling the awesome power of the festiva in snow when lesser cars fail. My biggest complaint is the salt and the effects on your car.
