Thanks! When I first saw the car I thought to myself "That car doesn't deserve to die!" so I bought it to save it from ending up like the others the guy who I bought it from has in his backyardOriginally posted by geezerstiva View Posti love seeing festy lovers who are young, seeing as how i'm young myself. i got my first one at 13, and i replaced all the exhaust valves (ok, my dad helped me out some :lol
before i was able to drive it. now i'm 18 and still have that one plus my beloved red one that i just finished putting a cylinder head in. i love the idea of someone taking a rotting festiva and saving it from certain death... keep up the good work, and have fun!

Thanks Batstiva! This is a fun project and I can't wait to see the end resultOriginally posted by batstiva View PostWow, I admire your dedication. There is no replacing the experience and education you are getting from starting with a project and ending up with the car you want. Kudos, and keep up the good work.
It will probably get repainted sometime during spring of next year.

I could've taken the easy route and bought a already driveable festiva, but that wouldn't have been any fun

When I was 16, I got my first Festiva and like yours, it had been sitting for a while and needed some TLC. I never had worked on a car before and it was an awesome learning experience. From that car I learned how to do suspension work, timing belts, carb tuning, bearings, A/C repair, bodywork and a whole lot more.
Major props to you for fearlessly tearing your Festy apart and learning how to do your own maintenance!

Previous Owner Info
I found out today that the last owner bought the car in 6/16/1993 and it had 40,573 miles on it then, and she drove it until 2004 and it had 211,948 miles on it. From 2004 on the car was sitting, until I came along and bought it

I won't! Thanks! It's fun rebuilding this festiva, and putting one back on the roadOriginally posted by freshtiva View PostDont forget my under the seat tray. Good to see someone fixing up their festy. Nice work !! Yeah those rear bumper beams are real dirt collectors, thats why they all rust out.
If I wouldn't have bought it, it would have had a slow death
Thanks! the rear bumper came off fairly easy.Originally posted by Kofkof_00 View PostI'm always impressed when I see someone embarking on the repair journey. You seem to be talented, I had a devil of a time taking the rear bumper off.
