G25MRs all have the same guts. So yes, you can swap cases/guts between cable and hydro G25s.

G15 is a different critter. No swappy partsies....

hey Jim, is it just a differance in bell? 'cuz i have an extra cable 323gt bell but no innards. will the bell swap over to the G15MR?

all these guys nailed it! The 1.9L/2.0L SPI trans is a G15MR, and has a different bell. XR2 trans is cable clutch.

Got a 5 speed trans from Chris when I picked up the B6T street racer car.

Came out of a Capri XR2 turbo car.

That will go in one of the BP swapped cars.

The other two BP cars will have the stock Festiva trans.

From what I have found trannys for them are hard to find and expensive when you find one... I am bidding on an automatic that needs a tranny right now through the local insurance company so I have been looking into it a bit...

....

I saw one on the side of the road today. Maybe it had a tranny problem too. It was a blue one and looked pretty clean. I bet the way people drive them has something to do with the tranny problem. So what trannys are you using for your swaps, the stock festiva tranny ?

I just got a Escort GT a couple weeks ago.

It also has a bad 5 speed trans.

But the engine I am told was complete redone in a local machine shop.

Plan to swap this engine into a Festiva.

This is like the 3rd Escort GT with a bad trans I have come by in the last year.

Looking like these trans are not that great.
