                Polished or Painted??

This is the polished one. For any one who has seen these wheels knows that they are cast aluminum. Pain in the rear to sand smooth.

I really liked the way these came out. Painted them gun metal grey like my valve cover. ALOT easier!! I polished the lip.

If you look in the back you will see a 323 with them polished. Fell in love. Liked the way it looked on a white car.

I've always liked the look of a polished rim, but man are they hard to maintain!!

^^ Oh ya! They look great! if you don't mind the maintenance I say go for it.

One idea I've had about polishing rims is I've often wondered if you could clean them really well after polishing with an aggressive solvent like acetone or MEK to remove any residue/polishing compound left over from the polishing process and then clear coat them. You would have to get everything off the wheel or the paint will fisheye as soon as it hits the surface. I've been wanting to do a test rim but just haven't had the time.

The great thing would be, all you'd need to clean them is soap and water

I dont think that the clear would have anything to hold on to!! Too slick of a surface. Would be nice

I really like the polished wheel and think it makes the phone dials stand out, but like you said, they're a major hassle to keep nice. You could run them as seasonal rims I guess?

That is the best color for polished wheels in my opinion, any other color and I would go with the painted.
