Had to cut my fenders to prevent rubbing from the 195/60/14's due to the offset of my 84 celica alloys. Will post pics again after I mount fender flares. Alloys cleaned up some. They need to be cleaner. Any suggestions?

          Use a bigger scrub brush?

I like that look. What will you be using for flares?

First I hammered literally. It looked rough and still rubbed a lot. Then I cut with a sawzall, snipped with tin snips little vertical lines, folded them back into the wheel well with pliers then tapped patiently with a hammer. It took 4 hours and looked really good. BUT IT STILL RUBBED. Then I cut again and did the same process. I wasn't as patient and it doesn't look good. It's uneven. And it still rubs rarely. Stock suspension mind you. So I will cut a tiny bit more and add the vw flares. I think it will look hot then.

I've often wondered how VW flares would look on a Festiva. Now I can't wait for your next update.

go and get some cleaning acid... i used it at maaco when i worked there, i was working on this mx3 and it had so much break dust on the fron wheels you couldnt even tell that the wheels where silver.... put some in a spray bottle and mist the wheel and let it sit for 10 sec, then scrub it with a brush and watch the stuff just melt away... then rinse with water... just what ever you do DONT get it on your skin or ANYTHING... it burns like heck i kept on getting tiny drops on my arm from the brush flinging the stuff everywhere and it would burn like heck....

aircraft stripper works on the tough wheel paint. dissolves it right off. I like those wheels paul, some stiffer springs would help with the rubbing problem. should look sweet lowered with flares.
