Dean, this spring I may be game to take a southern trip for an Aspire suspension swap for Twinstiva (future Speedstiva).

I'd like to find a low(er) miles '96 or '97 Aspire to get it from, since Twin has just under 83.5K miles now.

Just got back from a junk yard 80 miles east of Raleigh.

They now have 5 Aspires in the yard.

Pulled one of the swaps today.

4 are left.

Going try get back there next Saturday.

Come on down and join me.

Festiva / Aspire parts all you can carry 40 bucks!!!

Went back to Young's today solo.

As I entered the yard, sited a new arrival to the yard that had not been place yet out in the Ford row. Decided to pull the Aspire swap items cause it was in a great place with lots of room to have at it.

This makes 5 Aspire that are in this yard.

Plan is if weather allows to go back again Saturday Jan 30th.
Come join me and pull yourself a swap or any other items.

This place is called Young's and on Saturdays parts are 40.00 for all you can carry across the scale in one trip on your person.
There were folks with engines tied to their backs as well as folks strapping all kinds of car parts on their body and then walking across the scale.

You could very easy carry a couple 5 speed Festiva trans along with fenders, lights, etc on your person across the scale and it would only be 40 bucks.

So folks better get these parts at this great price before they are in the crusher.


I got this complete swap and also a Aspire grill for the 40 bucks.

4 are left to be pulled

Most of the parts are rust free.


This is a Saturdays only deal.

Mon-Fri items are priced like most Pull-A-Parts.

Ah Dean, I'd love to, but I'm coming up on more OT at work, which makes me settle for one day "weekends." I'm doing too much housework right now anyway.

Like I said, this spring! That 'yard looks great, with plenty of potential for initial sociological studies as well. As far as I know, no one's covered "the sociology of junkyards" yet.

Weather not looking good for Jan 30th

Rain, snow, and won't make it above 30.

Will try for Feb 6th.

Went back to Young's today cause weather will be bad this weekend.

The white Aspire below that I pulled the Aspire swap from was gone. Found it on top of the crush pile. This car had a very good front clip and all the rest of the car was still there.
Don't know why they just decided to crush it and not drive out into the yard, pick up one of the other Aspires that were missing most of it's parts along with 3/4 of the Aspire swap.

Someone has pulled a Aspire swap from one of the 4 remaining Aspires. So there is only 3 left.

Left that yard and checked out Bevell's used parts you pull it type place down the road about 6 miles.

They had no Festivas. But had two Aspires.

Aspire swaps there are just under 100.00 and you pull it.

One of the Aspires had some rust, The other was very clean.


Also two Escort GTs still with engines. Engines are like almost 190.00 each.

Will down load pictures of today's finds Friday night.
