And, just the fact that we drive a Festiva is pretty hick, trust me. It makes no difference where the exhaust exitsOscar

Uhhh thats skeeter, not me.
I DID use to run side exhaust on my tbird. First when I got the car the cat back was completely shot, so I had an exhaust shop run a pipe out the drivers side from the cat.
Then after a while the inner hick came out and I took the stock Y pipe and ran pipes out in front of both tires... with the cat gutted.
The whistle from the turbo was awesome but I set off a few car alarms with it!
Matter of fact, heres an old clip I made of it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PGaw3husq-Q
I eventually found a nice deal on a 3 inch setup with a magnaflow and never looked back.91GL BP/F3A with boost

So all you need is the cover, not the whole bumper, correct? For both front and back. Does it help to keep any of the push buttons (if they're in the stylus bumper covers)?

Yeah, those plastic plug/screws are junk. They end stripping out and you have to cut them. I picked the bumper cover with only the mesh insert and the lights. I didn't reuse any of the hardware. I used self-tapping screws and pop-rivets to mount it.Oscar

IMO they aren't meant to be used like screws, just take a small screwdriver or knife and pop out the middle then pull the whole thing out, simple as that. The first one I did strip and got pretty pissed, the rest are in the same shape before I messed with themand that goes for the front bumper I swapped on the festy.
thanks Lane for the info on that.
