Hey, I'd really like to see some detailed shots of how you mounted and modified your bumper so we could compare! I'll get some shots of mine this weekend if I can

I saw a stylus at PNP today, and was VERY tempted. But I don't know if I wanna go all copycat, and that particular bumper didn't age quite so well (I think it was painted with house paint at one point, a few busted mount points)

Anyways, I pulled some RX7 seats instead.

there's no copycat about it. there's thousands of festiva's out there, you'd be the only one in your area with a stylus bumper for probably hundreds of miles. and even if someone else here has it, so what. I honestly wouldn't worry about it. but just my .02 cents

Is this the same guy with the spray can camo paint and bull bar giving a lesson on what's hick? LOL No offense, just thought it was funny.

That orange/green Festiva looks like it has the same kind of paint treatment

I should say that I don't see anything wrong with a side exhaust as long as it's not too loud and obnoxious. To each their own I guess.

I thought about that too, but that's why I'm giving credit to the guy I "stole" the idea from. But if you feel that way, I'm sure you won't swap a B6, B8, BP,... you get the idea.

We definitely have to get creative with our cars. I don't consider it a copy cat thing at all.....someone has to pave the way for all the modifications that can be done to festies! Once one person has done it then that's just proof that the rest of us can do it as well!

Being that you sound a bit offended I should probably mention I wasn't ripping on you or calling you a copycat. I'm not opposed to borrowing ideas.

Bad choice of words on my part.

I just want my build to be as original as I can make it. If I borrow an idea or concept I want to put my own spin on it at least. My last project was a real cookie cutter car and all the mods I did had already been done literally *thousands* of times before. I want to distance myself from that as much as I can within my range of ability.

No man, not offended at all. It's difficult to set the tone with just text. I was trying to say that it's difficult not to copy some of the mods already done (like engine swaps). The Isuzu bumper was something that I was not planning on doing but couldn't pass the opportunity when I saw it. We'll see how long I decide to keep it I like the idea of a car that looks original too.

I hadn't noticed or thought of anything offensive or anyone being offended by your choice of words.

I've gotta call this junkyard before I treck down there to look at it saturday. It's a white bumper but it's half as far as one that's red in the complete opposite direction of a racetrack I'm going to saturday. Figure I'd nail two in one swoop. They want 100 bucks for the bumper, I need to see if I can get it for "39+ tax" lol or something much closer to half that price. otherwise, I'll search elsewhere
