If no one from the future stops you from doing it, how bad of a decision can it really be? -
The stripes are OK, but you've killed the body flow. I'd put them along the hood ridges to accentuate the lift as well as continue design flow. Also, if you were to go with the Mini Cooper style, I'd love to see the Canadian flag painted on your mirrors or roof.
