Your engine bay looks cleaner than some newer cars I've seen! At least you don't have "oil wash" everywhere.

Easy to service, compact and lightweight with lots of visibility are attributes of Festys. But not the obscure wheel bolt pattern, biodegradable upholstery plastic, brakes or wheels. Upgrading to Aspire fixins (especially vented and floating rotors) is a miracle fix and should have been offered by the factory right from the start.
But, in a way, that is a more organic upgrade, basically designed by the same company for a very closely related car. Nothing has to be cut or welded, etc., etc.
At the moment, I feel the need to say that I consider myself to be a tolerant person. All of my evaluations are nothing more than my own personal feelings, and, a long time ago, I gave up thinking the world would be a better place if everybody in it completely agreed with me.
But it's more than just that, tolerance. I believe there have never been the the whole history of the world, or in its future, any two people who have been even close to the same. You can either accept and embrace that fact, or you can struggle against it and try to make everyone behave according to some "accepted" standard. I have chosen the former. In my experience, the world is a better place when everyone is allowed, no - encouraged, to discover and fully develop their own unique values and abilities.John Gunn

Well put, John.
You really do have to drive a Festiva with the Aspire brake swap to directly experience how much better it can be. Don't forget the rear stabilizer bar which flattens corners out too.
I've now experienced stock automatic and manual Festivas, and those same cars after they had Aspire suspension put on. Also, both cars had B6 engine upgrades. The automatic especially benefits from the B6, as it can now more than keep up with traffic and haul a full load without undue stress.
My only reason for keeping a Festiva bone stock would be to have one around "for posterity." If I did find a sweet 5 speed LX that might happen.
I'd only keep the stock brakes if I were making a hard core MPG champ, due to the lighter suspension/brake components and the stock brakes should be enough for a lightened, B3 car.
Everyday use of Festivas, however, argues for upgraded brakes and a few more horsepower. In some situations, an upgraded B3 might be fine. A barebones commuter Festiva would be fine with a 70 hp B3, I think. In fact, I intend on making one some day. Whether or not it gets Aspire brakes, I don't know yet.
