Got a 1998 Jeep Cherokee Sport. 135,000 miles. Picked this up from my sister in law after talks of a camping vacation we're planning in the summer. I want a pop up camper but I assumed the Festy or Yaris wouldn't comfortably tow one up to 4 hours away. She offered it to me at a deep discount because they rarely drove it anymore. So far I love it, call me lazy but I miss driving an auto. Also, in an attemp to focus on the new red Festiva, I've been offering up my blue Festiva for sale to a few friends. If that doesn't work it will be for sale on here at some point.

What's troublesome about them? So far this is what I know it needs:
-Front diff needs gasket.
-Faulty sending unit (reads 1/4 tank when empty)
-Hatch struts are weak.
-Driver door needs bracket where roll pin attaches.
Going to get underneath it this weekend to change all fluids. Going to check suspension components then.

Most of the problems associated with those jeeps stem from abuse and lack of maintenance. I have had friends with Cherokees and they haven't had that many problems compared to other 4X4 vehicles. Cracked exhaust manifold is just an excuse to get a header if you ask me.The Festiva Store

Meh, it was only $300 more than the non running car you bought, which you'll likely spend on a new motor, and if you count the OBS you spent more than $700 on less than six months ago only to scrap it soon I think I'm still doing pretty good. :-)91GL BP/F3A with boost
