Mine has took 10 years of abuse, I usually limit the trailer weight to
2000 lbs, 50 to 75 lb tongue weight. A mustang ruined its front end
rear ending my old trailer, shoved me out into the intersection. No
damage. If you had found a 3000lb hitch that would do the job. The trick
is how strong the car parts are that you are attaching to. A 2000lb hitch
could be stronger than a 10,000 lb hitch if attention to the integrity of
the vehicle isn't checked. Think safety all the way through.
For lights I use the magnetic HF ones, they work great. Haven't tried
them on the rubber paint yet..? hmm
