      Re: Aww Yeah!

In BC now if you're 40kph (24mph) over the posted limit you lose your car on the spot for 7 days!!! Not to mention the $1000 fine.

That's almost worse then Ontario, 50+kph over and you lose your car AND license for 7 days + whatever the huge fines are

So I usually let off the throttle at about 40-45 over the limit

It was something to do with the fact that I was doing 50MPH over the speed limit, AND the speed limit was 75! Still... I watched meth heads, molesters, and REAL criminals come in, and leave while I sat there for driving my little Mazda/Merc to fast!

My last speeding ticket was in 2004 in my Mustang. It was $610 for 37 over (67 in a 30). That sucked, but at least it was before all the super speeder stuff b/c I would have been in jail, ha. The last ticket I got was also in the Mustang. A friend rode with me to the gas station to get some beer (its exactly 1 mile from my house). I got a ticket for laying drag pulling out of my neighborhood. That was $340 and 3 points! Now I'm paranoid every time I press the gas when driving the Mustang, haha.

I've actually never been pulled over in my Festiva. I have done some less than smart things in it too. (When I first got it, I thought it was neater than neat that I could spin in first then chirp in second gear, now I'm nicer to the Festy.)

I have been pulled over 2 times, in the 5 years I have been driving.

#1 47 in a 30, just leaving my auto body class wasn't paying attention, saw the cop said oh sh**, and saw cherries. Cop asked why I was speeding I said I wasn't paying attention and he said alright, slow down, and have a good day.

#2 I was driving my new to me 99 dodge pickup to the casino in Mahnomen, MN cooking along with the cruise set at 62 when all of the sudden I was being pulled over. The Highway Patrol then proceded to ask why I had no plates (Just bought it) and then freaked out at me because I had my Vin # covered. Which I explained was becasue keys can be made from the Vin. So he then told me that the evidence suggests that I stole the pickup. Searched everything and it came up clean. I got a warning for speed and a suspended object that night.

              Otherwise I am clean!

i was pulled over last Saturday night because the officer thought I didn't have my headlights on ( they are yellow). It was the first time I've ever gotten into a discussion with the a police officer and won! He said my yellow lights were illegal, I told him I thoroughly read the state legislature on automotive headlights and found nothing about yellow headlights. I told him that , in fact, blue headlights are stated as being against the law ( while pointing to a passing motorist with blue xenon bulbs) but yellow or Amber was stated as the correct color for front lighting. He went back to his car for about ten minutes, when he returned he apologized to me and said I was correct about the law. I thanked him for his honestly and went on my way.
Driving for me is neither a right nor a privilege. Driving is my passion, as it was for the people who invented the automobile, the people who paved the first roads and the people who continue to improve the automobile. Please respect this passion.
