Interior needs put back together...maybe ill go grab some carpet shampoo stuff.from the dollar store and get that ready. Driver seat is solid, need to cut and weld the passenger seat bracket. Hmm
Yea, but I also took the padding off and tossed it. The padding on this carpet is in decent shape and I really don't want to throw it away. Just need to clean the carpet this time
Yea it turned out really good. I was in that Aspire just last week fixing a botched aftermarket CD player install for my neighbor( he used the illumination wire for a constant power Haha, who hasn't done that before...) The vinyl & carpet paint is still holding up really really good. I was thinking the areas were your feet go would fade or show some gray through the black but its not. Just needs a vacuum now Haha..
I think tomorrow I'm gonna have to strip the whole front end and swap over the whole front end off the piece of ford sitting in the side yard. Axels and all probably.need replaced, so I'm gonna dig up a driver side and see if I can cash it in on a warranty. I might even try to swap over to the aspire sway bar because of these tires, maybe the thickness and added rigidity will help with my torque steer. It has like new/brand new aspire lcas and k9737 bushings so it will be a totally.fresh front end capped off nicely with some 9.3" vented rotors from the tracer. Supposed to be 95+ with 95+ humidity again tomorrow like the last two days so we'll see how far I get.
I got the carpet shampoo'd, it needs a round two, maybe three? Will get to it later I guess.
Guess these knuckles wont work either. Man this really sucks. I gotta go buy some new Festiva lcas and tie rod ends. I'm getting fed up with this junk. I might go ahead and spend the money on a couple new axles too. The aspire steering rack seems like its in good shape and I don't remember any funny steering issues so I guess we'll see what happens. Gonna try to use the aspire sway bar anyway..
I've been messing around trying different things for a couple hours now, yesterday and the day before that. I'm just so sick of using old parts over and over, I've decided to just buy some brand new inner and outter tie rod ends, and a new axle, some new moog k9737 bushings and see what happens. I'm done trying to mix and match parts to make things work, bigger brakes aren't worth the hassle at this point in time. I just want the car to ride good, I have trips to Cincinnatti, Columbus, and North Carolina I have to make in this car before summer is out so the damn thing just needs to work. Bet I wouldn't have had any of these issues with an Aspire chassis.
Zoom, what knuckles were you trying to use? I'm about to go get the knuckles from a rio i swiped the shocks and springs from, because the aspire at the yard was really bad.
Edit: i have aspire LCA and aspire axles under a non running festiva right now, but it still has stock festiva brakes and knuckles. It's not running so i dont know how bad THAT geometry is. It rolls around the yard in and out of the street OK as-is. It went back together at least.
