I understand the depressed part, when the wife and I started dating back in 72 we met while street racing in down town Des Moines on Grand and Locust, I had a 61 Vette and she had a sleeper 64 Chevy Biscane, well as the story goes I sold the Vette to finance the wedding, ya we were married but now we were bored, two weeks after the wedding as I drove in the driveway there she sat, the Vette was back, we have been married for 40 years.

^^^^ The All American Story! That's fantastic, like something out of American Graffiti.....just 10 years later, lol. Nice catch, finding a girl that was a Gearhead. Makes me want to sell the Mustang and put the money towards finishing the old '62 Galaxie. Congrats on the 40yrs, but I gotta ask.....was her Biscane faster???? Tell the truth now, lol.

So heres what happened, i was sitting at a red light, she pulls up on my left, the light turns green and she pulls away, then as she pulls in front about a car length her car started to smoke a little, my buddy and i are thinking hmm we have our selves a pigeon here so at the next light i said to her, if you smile ill let you win, the next thing i know she held the brake, slapped the pedal to the wood, the old Biscayne torque twisted and she was gone, by the time i woke up to what she was doing it was all over, i pulled up beside her at the next stoplight and yup she was smiling, i took a liking to that little Blond girl, i spent the rest of the night trying to get her to pull over, but when she did pull over all four doors were locked and her window was down about a quarter inch, three months later we were married. Now about the sleeper, the old chevy had a 66 Chevelle 396 with a glide, it was her brothers car, he would send her out to hook people, when she had a race she would go pick up her brother and the fix was on. We just recently retired from drag racing and never in all these years has she ever said no to any parts the car has needed. If you make it to the meet ill dig out some pic's of our last Dragster. I can see in your signature what you have done to the Stang and i'm sure its fun to drive but on the other hand you have a great car in that 62 Galaxy, a real thumping 428, Deuces, 4 gear with a 3.89 rear gear, ya she's a ripper with class.

Driving for me is neither a right nor a privilege. Driving is my passion, as it was for the people who invented the automobile, the people who paved the first roads and the people who continue to improve the automobile. Please respect this passion.

Here's another old Honda for you guys this one is a cool 250 cafe racer that my brother is currently building. We have a few of them that we picked up in varying degrees of decay but if we can at least save one it will make it worth it.

A 4-door Biscane....reminds me of a guy in my home town. He had a built 350 in an old Chevy II, but he wrecked it. He lived with his Grandma, who had like a cherry 71 Nova plain-jane 4-door (typical Granny car). She let him put the 350 in her 4-door Nova, but he put a stock cam in it so she could drive it. He used to cruise around town in the Nova and lay rubber. One night, I talked him into racing my Mustang II (built 302, stall, gears, etc.). I did beat him, but it was waaaay too close for my ego! I would have felt much better if he was a cute Blonde, lol.

Granny cars were the best sleepers, I can see a little ol Blue haired granny terrorizing the cops while driving through the A and W. Your Mustang II should have had a weight advantage and looks like it was well built, heck maybe the tires spun a little making it seem more close than it should have been, anyway you got the win.

Well, the old Mustang II hatchback with T-tops was heavier than you would expect. I'd guess 3200 to 3400. I ran him down, but it made me sweat for a while. If he would have had gears other than the 3.08 (or whatever was stock), it would have been darn close.
