What wheels did you stick on there?

I think it's powder coated or something? John was telling me about keeping the lights back, as long as you flip the brackets the right way they can be in the right holes for it and still be clear if you stand it on end. I'm gonna get some locking casters as soon as I can lol.

The paint is lame and mine faded to pink in less than a week. I slapped bed coating on as much as I could.

Lol I drug it to work and back today. It's unnerving that you can't even tell it's back there. I might have to get one of those magnet ball things people use to line up when they back up to a trailer....or widen it to where I can see it ?!? Hmm

Or maybe build a box for it, say two feet tall. You could do it all with one treated 4x8 plywood piece, plus a piece for the floor. Open top.

Yea that's probably what will happen here shortly, the Main rails actually have cutout holes for a 1x4 or something so it shouldn't be too hard at All. Went and measured the 4 wheeler and I have to add exactly 1' length and it'll fit. Hopefully tomorrow will be a productive day since I don't have to go to work.

Also want to add that even my lowered aspire is almost too tall for this trailer with 8" wheels. My hitches are in the bumper, I know johns hitch hung low because it just bolted to the tow hooks. I really want some 12-13" wheels anyway (that will raise it quite a bit should be level)I just don't trust the harbor freight rubber. Brand new out if the box the wheels are bent way worse than my 13x7 AR wheels on the festy.

That is what mine has, takes 2 1/2 pieces for everything.

I got some stuff done today, extended the trailer to 5'1" by welding in some scrap steel. I was going to just use 1.5x3/16 angle but my wife's grandfather had a piece if 1.5" square tubing so I just used it.

The job wasn't hard and would have went a lot faster and probably been better looking welds if I didn't have 3 supervisors telling me how to fab my own trailer. Anyway.. Used some 6013 and what he had left of some super skinny rods, they were so old they were falling apart but it's just a trailer.

                  Pics!

I swapped to some spare 13" steel wheels, had to use a torch to cut out the centerbores a bit, and I have to run them backwards but it'll work fine.
                  image.jpg

I measured back 13.5 inches from the front and cut the rails.

Welded the tubing in, I wanted to notch the angle and make it flush across the top but I had bosses so...yea it'll work either way.

Measured 61" front to back and got it welded up solid
                        image.jpg

Didn't mess with bolts just welded the front rail to the tongue.

I need 2 1x4's and a 4x8 sheet of 3/4" plywood+ a 4x8 sheet of .25 or .5 plywood for the sides. I want to make the sides a foot and a half tall, and the rear will fold down and double out to form a ramp to drive the quad on. Considering putting the deck on tomorrow, supposed to pull a s10 tranny in the morning so maybe I'll have time, who knows.

Wow, really nice alteration you did there! Of course your tongue weight will be higher now, unless you put the heavy items toward the rear.

Took long enough but I finally got the plywood. I had some things come up and couldn't spare a dime, but my step dad got me a piece of plywood for Christmas lol, my mom got me a fruit basket -.- I told her to let him pick next time.

We went to Lowes and looked at the treated wood, that stuff was green, looked moldy and already falling apart. The construction grade plywood looked like crap too. The trailer is enough of an eyesore I don't need a crappy piece of wood to make it worse.

Also, the 3/4" was just a total overkill for a trailer this size, 1/2" was too flimsy looking. So I ended up settling for a 4x8 sheet of 5/8" grade 2 plywood, untreated. Yea I know "untreated it will fall apart"... But that's what I got. I have an idea to possibly add some years to it's life lol... It doesn't involve paint or sealer..

I drilled recesses where the frame bolts stick up so the plywood would sit flat.

Then drilled 3/8" holes, need to get some bolts for it tomorrow after work.

Also got 2 8' pieces of 1"x1/8" angle iron to use for the side rails...and should be getting a nice welder next week!!!
