I found this bee tree a couple hours after cutting brush around the base of the tree. I never even noticed them ( about eye level ) and I'm allergic to bee venom. The tree is only 150 feet from the garden which you can see in the background of the second picture. Good pollination will ensue.

Fresh, your garden looks great! G-dine and I just need to get better equipment to get close to your garden.
We do have a garden with some varieties. G-dine does most of the work and planning, I just do the tilling and some cleaning.
As you can see in the photos we have red & green leaf lettuce, red & white onions, numerous tomato varieties, numerous peppers, swiss chard, radishes, snap peas, & potato cages which we are tying out this year.
Just planted okra, 3 types of bush beans, cucumbers, acorn squash, butternut squash, yellow squash, & zucchini
We also have a huge wild blackberry patch that yields at least 100 half pints of jam per year.
G-dine freezes & cans vegetables. Makes homemade salsa that she gives out with the blackberry jam at Christmas time.
Future plans are building a greenhouse putting in an orchard & planting blueberries. Also putting in a pond down from the garden.
These are rogue tomato's & they come back every year. Also there are some mint basil & cilantro there too.
Here is the tiller I have to work with, not sure what brand it is. We purchased it off this old man that was having a yard sale at his farm.

^ Wow muleskinner very nice ! Thanks for posting the pictures, I love to see what others are doing. I've seen people stack up old tires to plant potatoes in but never in cages like yours. I'm sure that will work. I know people use to put seed potatoes on top of the ground and then cover them with straw. Since they grow up and not down it makes sense as long as they don't get any sunlight they should be good. The best part is you won't have to dig them up, just knock them over. That's a good old troy bilt tiller made by Garden Way in Troy NY before MTD bought them out. They don't get any better, I've got two. I like your place, lots of room for expansion if you want. Kudos to you and G-dine. My garden grab from today below. Don't know what it would cost at the salad bar but that is a 16" stainless steel colander and it doesn't get any more organic, fresh, or tastier.

^Nice veggies, Fresh.
As you can see in the one pic we are already eating the leaf lettuce. We are also eating some of the radishes.
In the one picture where you see all the Festivas, to the right where you see an old rusty barrel, that is where we will build the greenhouse. A swimming pool used to be there so its nice and level & gets sun light all day.
Thanks on telling us what the tiller is.1993 Ford Festiva L blue 170,000 miles

I've got garden overload right now. I harvested all this stuff this morning while it was cool. I didn't even put a dent in it. Time to start sharing with the neighbors.

Picked my second picking of green beans today. The two pickings will make 12 quarts total, I still have a few quarts from last year. Also picked my first two tomatoes of the season. First time I ever had a ripe tomato before the 4th of the July.

^ Thanks man, the garden is hitting full stride now. I'm preserving daily now. I dug a short row of potatoes a couple of days ago and yielded 80 pounds of which I canned 22 quarts. That didn't use the full 80lbs. I still have four larger un-dug rows left to dig. I could top 100 quarts of just potatoes this year. Some pics from the past couple of weeks. Thank god for the rain this year.
Good hay crop this year too.Last edited by freshtiva; 07-20-2014, 09:20 PM.sigpic

The garden is growing faster than I can process the produce. I topped off my old freezer and had to buy a one owner used 12.5 cubic feet 2004 Kenmore for $48. I've got bushels of sweet corn. Dug 50lbs of kennebec potatoes. Bought out all the new canning jars from the local merchant as I've already used all my old ones.
