How do you get those to ripen off the tree?

I picked some and they shriveled up before they got ripe.
Any difference that makes no difference is no difference.

Huh, I never had that problem. We picked ours about a week ago and they've been sitting on the kitchen counter until today when the little woman made some paw paw butter out of them. They were getting pretty pungent, soft and darkening but no shriveling Around here the squirrels will get to them if you wait until they're ripe.

What is a PawPaw? Fruit: The pawpaw is the largest edible fruit native to America. Individual fruits weigh 5 to 16 ounces and are 3 to 6 inches in length. The

I noticed this in the article "The ripe fruit is very perishable with a shelf life of 2 or 3 days, but will keep up to 3 weeks if it is refrigerated at 40° - 45° F."

Maybe it's too dry in our house. The only ones I've been able to eat were ones I picked up off the ground. They all shrivel up and dry out when I pick them. Weird.
