Anyone know if the strut body on the Monroe 71295 Sensa-Trac Strut is the same or smaller in width Compared to stock festy strut? That's where I'm getting my rub. Maybe 2 mm thinner and I'd be on the road again. Thought about just grinding out a flat spot. But there's the whole integrity thing to worry about. There's bound to be very little thickness to spare.

            2.6in (65mm) offset
195/50/15 8.25in wide at the sidewall. So they don't fit in the fenders when the strut it's compressed. Which is always cuz I'm pretty heavy. I rigged a thing to pull the fenders out just need some time to massage them out a 1/4 inch or so and i should be good to go. Just hope i got everything seated correctly or i could have some wobbles. Tomorrow!

Those look very good!! I have 195-50-15's on one of mine, 165-45-15 on the second one and 185-60-14 on the third one. 2 of them have coilovers and the third one has FMS springs with KYB struts.

I put lots of gorilla power into shoe-horning the driver side fender. Got it just about right. Its kind of funny I put thevpasssenger side on now and you can tell the difference quite a bit. And I even already started beating on the passenger side.

195 is a lot of meat under such a light car. Watch out in the rain, that much width will have more tendency to hydroplane and the rear will slip out first which makes them a little tail happy. I raced a Festy in the rain in Houston with 185s on it and the car may as well have been on ice. The wheels do look really nice with that yellow btw!

Thanks, Yeah, it is entertaining. I don't drive it hard, basically in a straight line to and from work 25 miles each way. I am getting a good amount of vibration/shimmy up front, a little scary at 55. May take it back and have them re-balance. It could also be the C/V joints because I've already had the clicking for a bit and the new wheels just amplify the symptoms. Next on the list c/v's struts/springs tint.

The 55-65 shake is so common on these cars that I'm surprised nobody has made a Shakestiva badge. Lol. You should get good cv axles, and all the bushings and ball joints and ball joints, but don't get discouraged when it still shakes after countless wheel balances. The cure seems to be having the rack rebuilt. A loose steering rack will transmit vibrations into the steering wheel. No matter how balanced the wheels are, they still aren't perfectly round ( you can balance a square, but it doesn't like to roll smoothly). The Festiva rack seems to like to wiggle at 55-65 mph.

Thanks for the reassurance, I string-aligned the front and it doesn't shake my watch of my wrist Any more. Still shakes a little, but way better.

That's a great looking Festy. I usually don't like yellow on cars, but the Festiva wears it well.
