I might have the TCM from a 93 escort with a 1.9 I would sell for good price if it would help

this info is invaluable, i can't thank you enough. when i do the swap (and i will) there will be a massive write-up and tons of pics...

now all i need is the trans, TCU, and a car to swap it into (comming soon)

Bringing it back...did anyone successfully retro fit a 4 speed from another vehicle?

Which one will make it the easiest swap as far as being least electronically controlled?
                    What about the Capri's automatic?

It has been mentioned that the capri 4 speeds aren't reliable, and I've had one here at my house and they have a lot of wires plugged into them, not sure if that's of any help. the capri 4 speed auto is also extremely heavy. I hated moving it around the garage.

Hands down the G4A-HL from the 88-89 323 hatchbacks and sedans. The only electrics they have that a festiva doesn't have is for a two wire switch on the shifter to lock out overdrive.

I'm just currently waiting on the PayPal money to get deposited into my account before I can pick up the 323, should be in a day or two.... It will most likely be 2 months til I pick up Paul's car, gotta get my Festiva basically assembled to make the garage space lol

You should wait and pick it up in the middle of April, say... the 14th!
