For me depends what geographical location I'm in, last year it was STL.
This year might be Ohio.
TominMO drove in from STL (about 950 one-way) the day before and left from the meet to drive straight back.
Eurotiva and crew, I think, had a 700 mile one way trip (varied with individuals).
Gestiva had a "failure to launch" on the return trip (mileage unknown), thus dean initiated a Festiva Rescue mission.
There are a few others from "distant lands", similar in distance with Ephet journey, that I know are contemplating the trip.
Thinking they will start by themselves but join-up with others as they cruise through various states creating a large convoy as they arrive at the meet.

Just invited another Festiva owner to FMIV today! I was traveling up a back road to work and was thinking about V8Festiva when all of the sudden I see a Festiva turn in behind me!
I pulled over at the gas station immediately and fortunately, so did this Festiva. So when the owner go out, I ran over and took one of the FMIV business cards to her.
She was very excited that there was a club in the area. I hope she attends FMIV!!
Her Festiva is a blue "L" model with ribbed taillights. It looked to be in pretty good condition too!Last edited by Britstiva; 07-22-2010, 10:32 AM.

Logan, It depends where on the banks you are going to be. If you are on the northern end, there are bridges from the banks to Manteo and on to the Mainland. The road is US 64 which comes all the way to Raleigh.
Here's a link to the ferry maps and schedules. Some of the ferries get real busy this time of year and you might need a reservation. Have fun.

Also, make sure you bring a camera and some sunscreen!!! Last year was warmer than usual, and the sun was out in full force!
Since we are going to try to have some kind of news coverage, please make sure your car is clean too. Nothing worse than seeing a nasty Festi on the news. And if things go like last year's meet... we may end up crashing another car show down the street. LOL
For more clarification about the location... It's in front of Old Navy!Last edited by Britstiva; 07-14-2010, 07:15 PM.

Jerry, Thanks for copying the information
Yep, The plans are to meet in the same place. Bake House Bistro didn't make it, but last time I was over there it looked like a new place might be going in.
If this year ends up like last year, the meet starts when folks get to town on Friday and ends Sunday or whenever the last one leaves! Some of the folks usually go junkyarding before and there are plans for doing some car work at the house. Maybe an Aspire swap clinic and some other things. We'll know more as it gets closer. Dean may not be here this year, but everyone is still welcome to come hang at the house.
Anyone interested in hitting the yards or wanting help with something on their cars needs to post up what they are interested in. We will probably do a pull-a-part car again this year-(lord knows! I sure do have enough parts cars)
Block of rooms reserved at the Days Inn for those who need a place to stay. See this post:
There are lots of other options or one of the locals may have space. Just post your needs.
We will start a swap thread for folks to list what they have or need when we get closer.
PM me or ladyblaster if you have questions.
