They do get loud but there are subs out there that get just as loud and sound better doing it.

I would like to hear what sounds better then a Solo-Baric. Last time I checked, they won at a lot of SQ competition.
Is that a Festiva that just passed me?!?!?!

They can sound good in the right install but they are NOT an sq sub.

well i dont want to go any higher than 500 for the subs. im prolly goin to keep my amp (800x2...if i recall correctly 550x2 RMS) just so i dont have to redoo any of my major wiring. i want something that will sound good in a sealed box that i can make to fit in back. debated on getting an 18 inch solo but dont have enough power to push it to its potential

i COULD go with a good 10 or 12 inch setup, but id be playing for somethign higher end... ive already got something close to over a grand in the car with amp, deck, components, and other speakers...

and now with a 200$ car payemnt and 400$ a month insurance bill for my mistubishi 3000GT VR4, im running lower on cash currently than i used to

considering this setup makes 10's hit like a mofo, i may borrow a single 15" from a friend and test out just to see what i can do with a cheap 15"...

if all else fails the box can be cut out more for a pair of 12's...

i have heard the volfenhags... and i actually was quite impressed with them considering the price...
1992 Festiva... BP-T, Escort G5MR, no crossmember, aspire brakes, Megasquirt, Toyota COP's, coilovers and 6 puck SPEC clutch!

T3/T4 Turbo Power! G5MR and BP since '04!

thats my advantage....only vehicle is a paid festiva. no bills other than $50 light bill and food. after i buy a 4wheeler im goin to be putting a little bit more money into my festy. i have 2 of the volfenhag 12s but i want a little more. hopefully within the month i am goin to redoo my interior mainly all black and red (if i still have the volfenhags) or black and a dark blue.

Ok but give me an example of something better, I heard Alpine, they sound good but not loud at all, JL are loud but too big, etc, tell me what and why.

How much money do you wanna spend and what do you have to power them or do you need an amp as well.

A 10" sub will sound better in a festiva because of the box volume. The 15" sub takes a lot more volume because it is moving a lot more air. A 10" sub is not just more clear, it is also gives more punch. A 15 is loud and muddy because it is hard to move the heavier cone. The acoustics of a festiva are built for a 8" sub to a 12" sub.

Your set up looks good with the seat up, nice and clean.

Personally, I'm going to put in my two 8" Elemental Designs A series flat tops in mine running my Crossfire 1000x amp here soon, with a upgraded electrical system, of course..

What? when did car manufactures start building cars to accommodate sub size with the acoustics? Wrong. Simple fact, the larger cone diameter of any sub, the longer the bass wave has to travel to mature.
