ALSO, dont hook your amp up to a speaker. Your amp wants a non-amplified signal to amplify, and if you hook it up to a speaker, you will amplify an already amplified signal. This is not good for your amp. You need to get a line output converter. below is a link.

Those are rca outs, and they should say "preamp out" on them. Or one may say "sub out" or "aux out". Either way, just go buy a long rca wire (only about $5-$15) and hook up your amp this way. Your amp will thank you, lol. and it will sound way better too.

No prob! I love music, so I have a nice sub that I have all wired up, and I just reinstall it whenever I aquire a new car. I like my festiva though, so hopefully I wont be moving it for a while.......

If you have any other Q's dont be shy......

I know a thing or two about sound installations.
              1. How much ohms are the subs each? Because if you connect 2 subs @ 4 ohms each in parallel, it will become 2 ohms. See that the amp is capable of at least 2 ohms.
              2. What is the lowest ohms that the amp can give?
The capacitor does not make miracles, believe me I have installed kicker l7's without any caps and the bass was tremendous.
Give me the model number of the subs and the amp please so I can find out if they are good for your application.
Also what wire gauge did you have? I have 4 gauge wire installed in my car and it's the best.
The other thing is that if you let the car idle only the bass will cut because the alternator will not give sufficient charge. Should rev it to at least 2000 rpm. Also the other thing could be the stereo, bad wiring of the stereo or bad phonos (rca cables).

Your problem possibly lies in too low an Ohm on the Amp.

Also the problem could lie in your deck and the fact that its a detachable face. It may have a loose connection between the faceplate and deck itself. Wiggle it and see if thats a problem.
My brother who has done this for a living says it could be a dozen different things and itll be process of elimination to determine.
This diagram is wrong. if you connect 2 subs @ 4 ohms in parallel like the diagram it will lower to 2 ohms to the amp. That diagram is rubbish. Don't just take my word for it. Talk to professionals if you will.

It's not incorrect. The two subs are both 4ohm dual voice coil subs. The two voice coils (4ohms each) on each sub are wired in series, increasing them to 8ohms. Each sub is then 8ohms and when wired in parallel becomes 4ohms to the amplifier.

You need to chill out man.

ummm nope!! those are dual 4ohm coil subs right? so you wire the first sub in series and that presents an 8 ohm load, then you do the same to the second sub and there's another 8 ohm load, then connect those two 8 ohm loads in parallel and you now have a 4 ohm load. diagram is correct.
