b3, b6 interchangable parts?

  • b3, b6 interchangable parts?

    since the b3 and b6 are so similar can the b6 exaust manifold be used on the b3 stock motor? I searched and couldnt find anything on this so I figured Id ask. What other parts are interchangable just curious.

    Yeah they bolt up, but the b6 hangs down closer to the ground. You'd have to do a simple section cut on the down pipe. I don't know what happens at the cat, because I always take them out of the system!

      what about the rods, not the pistons and rods just the rods alone?

        yes, rods alone are interchangeable from the B3 and B6.

        -"Hairlipstiva" 1991 GL 5spd (swapped from an auto), rolling on Enkei 14x6 +38 with 195/45/14 Toyo's, Jensen MP5720 CD deck, tach install, LED strip in cluster, down position rear wiper, FMS springs, Gabriel shocks on 4 corners, Acura Integra short shifter
        -Escort GT 91 donor car with BP, G5M-R tranny to be dropped in the little guy...

          sweet, I know that I should just swap but Im just checking my options. I will end up swapping but I just want to get a little more familiar w/ the car first. and thanks for the correction ice on my last thread about the cam (not more fuel) better air flow.

              I know the throttle body i.d. is bigger and i know that the injectors will fit if you have the denso type ( I had a festy that had bosch type and were a little bigger) but they are more flow which will cause a rich condition at idle/off throttle and all around running bad

                            FE2 it is a 2.2l turbo

                            the newer one is a yamaha injected dohc 2.5l which I have seen swapped in to a mx3 that ran 11's
