So if he has a bpt in his capri then he either did a harness swap or it has a factory 2 plug ecu..... I can't seem to find any pics of a capri turbo ecm.... if the capri is a 2 plug then that's what I need. If anybody can give me a for sure anwser that would be great.

No. The Capri is an 3-plug ECU. The B6T electronics & harness can run a BPT.
I started with an OEM B6T and later upgraded to a BP+T and retained the stock harness, and used my chipped ECU to run it all.
The engine harnesses are almost completely independent of the chasiss harness. I've never done it (almost did), but swapping in a different engine harness shouldn't be the end of the world. There are one or two large plugs where it plugs into the rest of the car where it gets power and a couple other things, and then sends signals to the gauge cluster through there as well. so i could run a 323 harness for the engine as a standalone computer system and leave my festiva harness alone? its funny that the 323 had 2 and 3 plug ecus but the carb only festys have a 3 plug and the efi has a 2! why couldint they just pick a plug style!! somebody could make a killing making harness adapters!

You can get a B6T harness for like $100... Someone has a wiring guide here. You can't run the engine standalone of the rest of the car...
You couldn't do a harness adapter. The B6T ecu uses a knock sensor, and all that wiring is specific to the B6T engine harness.
Not all 323's used a 2plug ECU. IIRC it was the BG (90+?) uses the 2plug ECU.

i was just looking for a "simple" swap lol but jumped on the b6t i found bc it was so cheap. ive already done a full herness swap when i did the b6-me swap. i see the harness swap being a huge pain bc the 323 is totally different in legenth and the dash controls are totally different. when i did the last harness i took every single wire from the donor car. so how many things are gunna need to be spliced and cut ect to make this work? i dont wanna spend a week figuring out the wiring. im a mechanic not a computer guy lol

You dont swap the whole 323 harness just the engine harness all you have to do is splice into a few wires on the steering column. Theres a sticky somewhere all about this.Last edited by shorestiva; 12-22-2010, 06:11 PM.Better Than Nothing Racing
