    Joking...
    Thanks for the update

That's how I watched someone do it, more playdoh...if you math/measurement is off just make sure its off a consistant amount to realize a difference between the two LOL. There are proper calculators on the web but they ask for some extra information that you may or may not have and you just plug in and go...again if you don't know one of the figures make them constant so it should skew the right direction:

This calculator is designed to show the different Compression Ratios for different sized engines.

It's a MazdaFordnKia thing, and you will understand!

Lock #1 piston at TDC with the head off. Pull the cams or put them in position for compression on #1. Set a ball of playdough on the piston and set the head on it with the gasket in place as if you were going to assemble the engine. Then torque it down slowly and let the excess dough ooze out as you go.

When it's torqued, pull the head again, and roll the dough into as perfect of a ball as you can. Measure the width of it and formula for volume of a sphere is "4/3pi x radius of sphere cubed".

Now take the bore and stroke and calculate cylinder volume with "pi x radius of bore squared x length of stroke".

Then just divide cylinder volume at BDC by the cylinder volume at TDC(the volume of that ball of dough) and that's it. Rough compression ratio is the number you end up with or x.x:1.

im kind of confused on what head gasket to run, the z5 1.5 one or the miata one... The bore on the z5 block is a bit smaller, and the miata head gasket is a bit bigger, so im kinda confused i may just run a z5 head gasket.

run the head gasket that best matches the block bore that you're running.

thank you, thats what i was looking for.

Also, i was gunna ask on here someone might know, i have a b6T turbo and manifold, and for now i dont want to do anything custom i wanna get the car runnign first, than turbo it than boost it but the turbo i have is shot..

what kind of turbo can i use from what kinda car that will be a direct bolt on replacment for the stock 323 gtx one? so i dont have to mod the downpipe or exhaust manifold? i gotta go to the junkyard and rip a good turbo out i just dont know from where.

well im in university and have taken 4 different university level math classes... i wish i would have learned how to compute a comp ratio that would have been actually usefull.

argh so no time for nothing because of dumb school + tests but i managed to squeeze some time in to plug the 2 extra oil galleys and get a metal headgasket + arp head studs for the bulid, pics and update this friday.

well here is my update, school has been crazy, blocked off 2 extra oil galleys like soo, and i got a metal head gasket for the Z5 head + arp headstuds for the bulid

does anyone know about my turbo question? which car can i get a turbo from that bolts directly onto the b6T exhaust manifold and downpipe? i dont care if its a tad bigger.

multicollinearity, partial F tests etc, autocorrelation

did a solid 8 hours on the car, the bottom half is done, oil pump water pump and oil pan all mounted, new gaskets + seals... gunna do some more valve clearance measurements later on and should be good to put the head on, intake mani, waterline, trans + clutch + flywheels, no pics update cause it was to dark for pics.
